Ships are the main mechanic of Dust Fleet, filling out armies, mining asteroids, and destroying opposing ships.

Ship types

Each ship fits into one of a few types. While many ship functions are universal, some types tend to fulfill certain roles better.

Frigate

Smaller ships that typically make up the brunt of a fleet. They only come with a few weapon slots, sometimes only one, which can hold welding beams or light weaponry like plasma turrets.

Cruiser

Mid-range ships which may come with several weapon slots. Depending on the faction, they come with an additional feature such as an unbreakable beam weapon or a hangar for a single fighter squad.

Carrier

Large ships equipped with many weapons. They can hold several squads of small Fighter and Bomber class ships.
